Land of Myth & Magic was commissioned by Mark Harrison and Kearsley Youth Band for their tour to Oslo, Norway, in 2020. Written in the style of a traditional march, the piece combines familiar structures with lively rhythmic ideas and energetic themes.
It features solo passages for Cornet and Euphonium, supported by a strong groove in the lower band. The music shifts between bold, driving sections and lighter, more lyrical moments, aiming to capture a sense of journey through a landscape of myth and imagination.

Land of Myth & Magic was commissioned by Mark Harrison & Kearsley Youth Band
to mark their 10 year anniversary, after their formation in 2010. The piece is based on a traditional brass band march, incorperating influences from contemporary norwegian jazz composers. -
